Community Involvement

Our office is continually involved in many aspects of community outreach.  One of our main programs involves spreading dental education by way of puppet shows, especially to some of the younger children of the community.  Each year we put on many shows at preschool, libraries, and elementary schools that are well received and enjoyed by all who watch.  We’ve participated in other school based programs for anti-tobacco use as well as oral health fairs at the Kitsap Mall.  We support fundraising very regularly through charity auctions and many of Dr Brian Thornton’s paintings have been used for school, oral health, and cancer awareness causes.

Our office has a complimentary sportsguard program that is getting much needed dental protection for those involved in youth sports.

The last several years has also seen our heavy participation in Harrison Hospital’s Festival of Trees.  Our office designs, purchases, and arranges a Christmas tree display at the Festival of Trees each year in November.  The display is auctioned, and the proceeds go to the hospital program for the year.  This has included pediatrics, cancer care programs, and others.  We’ve begun to team with other dental specialist practices in the area, as well as other co-sponsors to maximize our efforts.
